Alex Brown

Marketing and Website Chairperson, APMP-NCA Chapter

As the Director of Business Development and Training  at OST Global Solutions, Alex has help to develop new lines of business, from BD services working with clients developing pipelines while installing the right processes to win business; to managing the development of multiple classroom training programs (from capture to writing). Alex’s 12 years of business development and  relationship building has helped position OST as a thought leader in the industry. Prior to his work at OST Global Solutions, Alex supported Proposal Development Consultants as a relationship manager for consultants and federal contractors in the metro DC area. Also, at VediorNA and Ingenta, he worked both in business development and in information architecture/project management, servicing Fortune 200 clients in the Boston metro area.

 

Beryl A. Hosack AM-PMP

Solutions Architect

A solutions architect with 25 years’ experience developing enterprise solutions for aerospace, defense, transportation, customs and border protection, food safety, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. 

Ms. Hosack’s technical expertise includes business analysis, enterprise and system architecture, modeling, integration, SOA and enterprise management. Examples of the solutions Ms. Hosack has developed include a $25M global acquisition system, $40M international trade tracking system, and $100M aerospace modernization system.  In addition to architecting solutions, Ms. Hosack is an experienced capture manager, proposal writer, black hat contributor, and proposal reviewer who has supported businesses nationwide and worldwide to win over $500M in new business. She has managed international teams of up to 75 persons.

 

Brenda Crist, PPM.APMP

President of APMP-NCA Chapter

Brenda has 26 years of experience providing capture, proposal, and program management support for information technology companies serving the federal market. She is currently the Managing Director, Strategic Solutions at the Lohfeld Consulting Group www.lohfeldconsulting.com. Prior to becoming a full-time proposal professional, she served as a Group Manager for OAO Corporation and Project Manager for Harris Corporation. She has provided system, application, and network management solutions for civilian and military clients. She is President of APMP-NCA and was a speaker at the APMP National Conference in June 2009. Brenda holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from American University and is ITIL and PPM.APMP certified.

 

Bryant Freeland

Bryant has more than  5 years experience working in the proposal industry as a consultant and full-time employee providing proposal management, coordination, technical writing, graphic design, and desktop publishing support.  He holds certifications in Adobe Creative Suite, Apple OS X, and Microsoft Office; and is trained in proposal management, writing, CRM, SEO, and maintaining company IT Infrastructures. Bryant is currently a Proposal and IT Systems Coordinator for AMDEX Corporation a small business specializing in infrastructure and health IT services, where he uses his expertise to create dynamic and visually appealing proposals that win contracts.

 

Colleen Jolly, PPF.APMP

Colleen Jolly, PPF.APMP, a 12 year proposal veteran, manages a professional visual communications company twice listed on the Inc. 5,000 list of fastest growing US-based companies – 24 Hour Company – with offices in the US and UK. Colleen is very active in the APMP including acting as Secretary for the International APMP as well as of the NCA chapter. She was named an APMP Fellow in 2010 and additionally is Layout Editor for the APMP Journal; regularly contributing articles. She is a frequent worldwide speaker on creative and general business topics, and has spoken at most APMP events around the world. She holds a BA from Georgetown University and is an award-winning artist and businesswoman—most recently featured in Northern Virginia magazine's 'Top 10 Entrepreneurs Under 30'. She is active in leadership roles in arts and women’s non-profit organizations and has been published five times in a women’s entrepreneurial calendar.

 

Louise Jacobsen Fisher

Louise Jacobsen Fisher is an APMP-certified proposal manager and capture manager.  She relies on her degree in Print Journalism and years working on newspaper copy desks to write/edit proposals for close to 20 years. Louise wins work at Federal agencies including the U.S. Departments of State, Homeland Security, Treasury, Interior, and Energy.




 

Rachel Miller

Rachel Miller is a business development (BD) operations strategist with more than 15 years’ experience helping companies leverage technology to build synergy within teams throughout the opportunity life cycle. Working within the BD team of a top government contractor, Rachel developed and managed a system that incorporated technology with a capture and proposal process that grew to handle a $14B pipeline across five organizations in 6 years. Now a Senior Consultant with Lohfeld Consulting Group, she provides capture process development coaching to institutionalize best practices for the government contracting market and believes that process definition is the key to using technology to support capture and proposal efforts successfully. Rachel is past chair of the Deltek GovWin CRM User Group and a national finalist in the 2008 Deltek Project Excellence competition for CRM implementation. She holds APMP Foundation-level Accreditation and is a National Capital Area (NCA) chapter member.
 

Randy Richter

Randy Richter is President of Richter & Company, an industry-leading competitive intelligence and pricing strategy firm.  His knowledge and experience, combined with outstanding analytical and presentation skills and an overwhelming “can do” attitude, have helped win more than $30 billion in new business in the highly competitive Federal marketplace.  Richter currently teaches the Price to Win! and Winning in the Cost Volume workshops for Shipley Associates, and has been a featured speaker at Federal conferences, telecommunications industry association events, and technical meetings.  He is an active member of SCIP and APMP.  Richter received his B.S. from Cornell University and M.S. from the State University of New York at Cortland, and has completed a wide variety of professional training, earning both sales and technical certifications from Cisco, Nortel Networks, 3Com, and Juniper Networks.

Wendy Frieman, PPF.APMP

Winning Proposals With Style

Wendy Frieman is a Principal Consultant at Lohfeld Consulting Group (www.lohfeldconsulting.com) who specializes in proposal management and proposal writing. She managed and wrote her first proposal at SRI International decades ago and has since managed winning proposals at SAIC, Oracle, and CSC. She has published in numerous APMP publications, including the peer-reviewed APMP Journal, and has spoken at regional and international proposal conferences. She is an APMP Fellow, accredited at the Professional level. Ms. Frieman received graduate and undergraduate degrees from Stanford University before seeing the error of her ways and relocating to the Washington, DC area.
